Title: Application Development Manager
Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Type: FTE, Direct Hire
Base Salary Range: $135-160k

Our leading Insurance client is seeking an experienced Application Development Manager who will be pivotal in designing and implementing Insurance-specific solutions.

You will oversee the support and advancement of critical applciation, including Policy/Claims administration, workflow management tools, secure data transport systems, customer service software & communication management services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of application solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, testers, and deployment teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Partner with business users to analyze requirements and provide best-practice recommendations.
  • Manage application platforms, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Resolve complex system issues and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Oversee project timelines, priorities, and deliverables to align with organizational goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for system changes and processes.
  • Foster strong relationships across business and technical teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in application development, support, and implementation, including web services.
  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance domain, particularly annuities, life insurance, commissions, and financial transactions.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience fostering diverse, high-performing teams and evaluating staff performance.
  • Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.
