Audit Manager (ESG)

Compensation: €95,000 - €135,000 total package
A prominent global financial institution is seeking an Audit Manager(ESG) to oversee and evaluate risk management frameworks related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues. The position involves conducting comprehensive audits and collaborating with international teams to ensure sustainable business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and challenge the current risk management controls related to ESG issues, including climate risk, non-financial reporting, and adherence to evolving global ESG regulations.
- Provide detailed audit reports, with actionable recommendations for improvements, and present these findings to senior leadership.
- Stay informed on new developments in ESG and sustainability and share knowledge with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with global teams working on sustainability, sustainable finance, and risk management, encouraging the adoption of industry best practices.
Team Overview: The ESG Audit Manager will be part of a specialized audit team within the larger Risk & Finance audit division, consisting of professionals located around the world. The team conducts joint audits with local teams to cover all global locations, providing exposure to various aspects of ESG.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong analytical mindset, particularly with respect to environmental risks and the broader ESG framework.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal audit or risk management within the finance sector, accountancy, or consulting.
- Expertise in areas such as climate risk, sustainability reporting, ESG investment, and compliance with regulations like the EU Taxonomy and CSRD.
- Proven ability to manage teams, provide guidance, and influence decisions across different departments.
- Excellent communication skills in English (other languages are an advantage).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within international teams.
