Oliver James is currently representing a client in the annuity and insurance sector, a company recently repurposed to innovate within the retirement income market. Our client seeks a dynamic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead operational strategies, manage third-party administrative relationships, drive efficiency, and enhance customer experience through streamlined processes and cutting-edge technology integration. This role will be pivotal in scaling operations and optimizing processes to support the company's strategic goals.
Location: New York City/ Greenwich, CT
Compensation: 250-400k base salary (pending on experience) + bonus potential
Position Overview
The COO will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The role involves building a high-performing operations team, leading outsourced technology functions, and optimizing service delivery. The COO will be instrumental in enhancing customer satisfaction, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and fostering data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Develop and execute operational strategies in line with company goals, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Process Optimization: Lead the implementation of best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, focusing on automation and integration.
- Team Management: Build and lead a team focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Oversight: Work with finance to manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics aligned with operational goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and stay current on relevant legislative changes.
- Client Experience: Improve customer satisfaction through enhanced service delivery and efficient onboarding to claims processes.
- Cross-department Collaboration: Collaborate with executive teams and external stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in operations management in a leadership capacity.
- Industry experience in life insurance / annuity strictly required.
- Appetite to work in a start up business environment.
- Knowledge of annuity products and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and operational metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
