Oliver James Consulting is partnering with a leading life insurance company in Asia to hire a Finance Manager for a major finance transformation initiative based in the Philippines. This is an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change within a globally recognised insurer.

Finance Manager (12-Month Contract)

🌟 About the Role:

As Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in a regional transformation focused on streamlining financial reporting, improving operational efficiency, and aligning finance, actuarial, and technology functions. You'll lead critical deliverables and work closely with local and regional teams across Asia.

🧾 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance workstream activities across business units.

  • Support financial process improvements, system integration, and regulatory reporting enhancements.

  • Ensure full compliance with accounting and actuarial standards (including IFRS and local GAAP).

  • Collaborate with actuaries, auditors, IT, and senior leadership to drive alignment and delivery.

  • Review and enhance internal controls, financial statements, and risk mitigation strategies.

✅ What You'll Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in the insurance industry, focused on financial reporting, accounting, or audit.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CA, or actuarial certification strongly preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with financial systems such as SAP, Hyperion, or Moody's; exposure to IFRS 17/4 is a plus.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.

  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is an advantage.
