A fast-growing, innovative insurance company who has expanded into the Irish market, and they're seeking a proactive, hands-on Head of Compliance to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the future of a company poised for continued growth.
As the Head of Compliance, you'll report directly to the CEO and lead compliance efforts across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring the company adheres to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role provides exposure to both local and cross-border compliance issues, offering exciting challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the PCF12 Head of Compliance in line with the Central Bank of Ireland, ensuring top-level compliance.
- Advise the Board on critical regulatory matters, including Solvency II regulations and other laws impacting operations in Ireland and the EEA.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the company's operations and identifying potential compliance risks.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive compliance monitoring programme and report regularly to the Audit Committee.
- Act as the go-to expert for senior management on compliance matters, supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Lead the development of the Annual Compliance Plan, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee compliance training, ensuring all team members are well-versed in regulatory requirements.
- Assess new business activities, identifying compliance risks and recommending solutions.
- Take charge of complaints handling, ensuring all issues are resolved according to company procedures.
- Regularly review and update company policies to remain compliant with changing legislation.
- Oversee Data Protection, ensuring full adherence to GDPR, with regular reports to the Board.
Core Competencies and Profile:
- 10+ years of senior compliance experience within the insurance industry.
- Proven track record in a Central Bank of Ireland regulated environment, especially regarding EEA Freedom of Services operations.
- Deep knowledge of AML, CTF, and GDPR, along with local regulatory frameworks.
- Strong communicator, able to engage senior stakeholders and provide clear, actionable guidance.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
