Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee a life underwriting team, ensuring timely and accurate decisions on life insurance applications.
• Possess and exercise an underwriting authority limit of $10,000,000 or higher.
• Collaborate with BGAs, providing personalized and clear guidance on underwriting decisions and processes.
• Act as the primary liaison between the underwriting team and BGAs, offering expert advice and facilitating smooth communication.
• Work closely with sales teams to ensure underwriting supports the growth of the business, leveraging your sales acumen and deep industry knowledge.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Mentor and lead a team of underwriters, ensuring continuous development and fostering a high-performance culture.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, products, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and competitive positioning.
• Serve as an ambassador for the company, participating in meetings, presentations, and events with BGAs and other key partners.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in individual life underwriting, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex cases.
• 5+ years of management experience leading underwriting teams in the life insurance industry.
• Proven $10,000,000+ in life underwriting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comfortably engage with BGAs and sales teams.
• A results-driven, sales-oriented mindset, with the ability to align underwriting strategies with business goals.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused attitude.
• Thorough knowledge of life insurance products, underwriting processes, and industry regulations.
