Position Overview:
As the Reinsurance Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the accounting processes related to reinsurance transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting financial reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders across the organization to enhance operational efficiency and drive strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the reinsurance accounting team, including the accurate recording and reporting of reinsurance transactions.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for reinsurance activities.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams to validate reinsurance agreements and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contract terms to determine appropriate accounting implications.
• Develop and maintain internal controls related to reinsurance accounting processes to ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory reporting standards.
• Lead the preparation of regulatory filings and support audits related to reinsurance activities.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency of reinsurance accounting operations.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting standards affecting reinsurance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in reinsurance accounting or related field within the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles as they pertain to reinsurance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software, if applicable] is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
