Oliver James are once again partnering with a prestigious higher education institution in Bern to support them in finding a talented and motivated Security Operations Manager. This role is deal for a Security Operations professional with several years practical experience in the field of operational security, who is looking to take the next step into a more senior position within a highly reputable business.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement medium- and long-term strategies for the SOC division.
- Triage and process incidents, coordinating damage control measures promptly in collaboration with SWITCH, SOC service providers, and internal clients.
- Advise, train, and support decentralised ICT managers at the University of Bern's institutes and administration on operational ICT security, ensuring they are updated on current threats, risks, and incidents.
- Design security concepts and implement solutions in the field of ICT security.
- Collaborate with the ID's CSIRT team.
Requirements:
- Completed vocational training in IT and further education (HF, FH, or university), ideally with a focus on cybersecurity.
- Practical experience in operational IT security, including log analysis, SIEM, vulnerability management, especially in the Microsoft ecosystem (MS Defender Suite, Sentinel).
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
- Strong conceptual thinking abilities.
- High level of independence, initiative, and flexibility.
- Sociable and quick to adapt to new areas of work.
- Proficiency in written and spoken German and English.
