Join our client, a globally recognized insurance carrier, as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you'll support the reinsurance controller and CFO, working closely with senior finance leadership in financial planning and accounting for a high performing business unit.
This unique position offers the chance to develop financial reporting, general accounting, financial analysis, maintain accounting records, and controls to mitigate risk while supporting process improvement initiatives. The chosen candidate will be groomed for a financial controller or similar head of finance role based on their success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the monthly and quarterly close process
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that are accurate and produced in a timely manner in accordance with GAAP
- Monthly and quarterly analysis of underwriting results plus budgeting and forecasting
- Manage monthly Balance Sheet review and prepares analysis and reporting of movements from prior year
- Work with external auditors and drive timeliness and accuracy of audit process
- Assist in the reconciliation and integration of acquisitions
- Actively contribute to strategic initiatives such as financial system implementations
- Research and resolve difficult accounting and reporting issues, take corrective measures to prevent
- Document proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain and strengthen internal controls
