General Description
This role is crucial in building and maintaining data analytics solutions for a large, complex organization. You'll be part of a central data team responsible for supporting multiple business lines. Working within an agile scrum environment, you'll collaborate with other developers, data analysts, and project leads.
As a Senior Data engineer, you will also mentor team members on technical aspects and work closely with the Data Architect.
Responsibilities:
- Translate business and technical requirements into detailed specifications for data analytics solutions (data warehouses, data marts).
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain BI solutions using industry best practices and adhering to functional and non-functional requirements.
- Guide the scrum team on development and architectural standards.
- Oversee releases and provide technical support for any issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Data Architect.
- Test solutions, troubleshoot issues, provide ongoing maintenance, and create clear technical documentation.
- Build engaging visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI and SSRS.
- Conduct prototype reviews, demos, and data model training for business users.
- Partner with the Project Leader to ensure project delivery in an agile and effective manner.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer, specializing in the Microsoft BI stack (Visual Studio, SSIS, SSAS, SSMS).
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Strong experience in data modeling (logical and physical).
- Expertise in data warehouse design (Kimball dimensional modeling).
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server from a development perspective.
- Mastery of SQL queries, T-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
