We are looking for an experienced Senior/Lead Data Engineer to help reshape our client's data infrastructure as they transition from legacy technologies to their next-generation data platform with a focus on Snowflake & Power BI. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by designing and optimizing scalable database solutions, integrating advanced analytics capabilities, and driving innovation across our data ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize cloud-based data platforms with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines, leveraging Snowflake, Azure, and other modern data solutions.
- Drive best practices in data architecture and modeling, including Dimensional, DVM, and other methodologies.
- Support advanced analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI, ensuring seamless data access and visualization.
- Administer and manage BI tools, including Cognos/Power BI, handling configurations, security, and data connections.
- Utilize strong SQL expertise to work with structured and semi-structured data across platforms like SQL Server, DB2, and MongoDB.
- Implement DataOps practices to improve automation, monitoring, and efficiency in data workflows.
- Provide technical leadership, offering guidance on best practices and mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
Skills Needed:
- 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Snowflake and cloud data platforms.
- Expertise in ETL development using SSIS or similar tools.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing principles, including Kimball and other modeling frameworks.
- Experience administering and configuring BI tools like Power BI and Cognos.
- Solid SQL skills and hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in production support processes, including incident and problem management.
- Project leadership experience is a plus.
