We are currentlyassiting a leadingSpecialty Insurance business, who are seeking a Senior/Lead level Software Engineerspecializing in Java, Spring,Microservices based development to work on the decommissioning of Monolithic systems and develop bespoke, greenfield Policy & Claims systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable back-end systems with a focus on microservices and core business logic.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between back-end services and client applications.
• Uphold best practices for code quality, testing, security, and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Monitor emerging technologies, applying innovative solutions to enhance existing systems and reduce technical debt.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to performance optimization.
• Maintain and improve DevSecOps pipelines, including automated testing and deployment processes.

Skills Needed:

• 5+ years of senior-level back-end development experience in agile environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java (especially Spring Boot).
• Expertise in microservices architecture, REST APIs, messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, Azure Service Bus), and GraphQL.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, focusing on performance and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and cloud-native development.
• Proficiency in DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD, containerization, and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and a security-first mindset.
