Job Description
The Product Owner is responsible for the structured approach to building and enhancing our
web/mobile banking offering, including the delivery and implementation of exciting new
digital features.
Fundamentally, the PO must ensure that the right software is built the right way to
achieve our long-term product and development goals.
Product Owner responsibilities
Product owners fill a visionary role for a product as part of the Product Management team.
They are the frontline contacts with their organizations' customers during and after
implementation.
Product owner responsibilities include the following:
* Work closely with business partners (internal and external) to understand goals,
objectives, dependencies (functional, non-functional, planning), and ensure our
digital channel solutions add significant value to our business, our clients and the
end-user.
* Build up, prioritize and prune the product backlog and ensure that the Scrum team
works on each iteration that the backlog contains according to plan.
* Define User Stories (together with the Bas) and ensure they meet DoR before
development starts.
* Streamlining the execution of product priorities while maintaining the conceptual
and technical integrity of the Features or components of our mobile app/technology.
* Develop the vision for a product together with the Product Management and UX
teams, and ensure that the development team follows a set plan to create a product
that aligns with that vision.
* The PO provides leadership to the cross-functional delivery team, and
* Serve as the main point of contact with internal stakeholders and customers, and
ensure customer satisfaction.
* Communicate with various teams, including scrum teams and development teams,
to make sure they are working toward and achieving the product goals (Agile Release
Train).
* Stay updated on market trends to help development teams design and develop the
right products.
* Establish deadlines and completion dates, create product backlogs for scrum teams
and set priorities for product development.
* Lead the alignment for the development team as part of the quarterly planning cycle
(QBR and PI Planning).
* Be a positive and enthusiastic champion for our product agenda, always ensuring
that what is delivered meets the needs of the business and clients we serve.
* Balance immediate business needs with future requirements, aligning product
investments accordingly.
* Work closely with the development team for sprint planning, showcases,
retrospectives, and other Agile meetings.
