Senior Systems Engineer - VMware / Commvault - Zurich
A leading healthcare provider in Zurich are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their growing Infrastructure team!

Within the day to day role, the focus will be on managing and supporting virtualization and backup technology within their IT infrastructure eco-system - This includes ensuring that essential systems are always available, secure, and up to date.
The role is a combination of both hands-on technical work and project-based tasks, aimed at keeping IT systems running smoothly and effectively .
Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance and Engineering: Focus on maintaining and upgrading systems that support virtual servers and backup solutions, particularly VMware for virtualization and CommVault for backups.
- Disaster Recovery and 24/7 Availability: Ensure systems are resilient and can quickly recover from any outages. Given that hospitals operate around the clock, the IT systems need to be highly reliable and accessible 24/7.
- Project Management: Develop and execute IT projects independently or with colleagues, such as improving systems, automating tasks, or adding cloud capabilities.
- Data Center Operations: Oversee and help develop the data center, ensuring all systems within it are operational, secure, and efficient.
- On-call Duty: Be available on-call approximately every 7 weeks to respond to urgent IT issues.
Required Skills:
- Technical Background: Experience in managing high-availability servers, particularly VMware (a virtualization platform) and CommVault (backup software).
- Familiarity with HPE Synergy: Knowledge of HPE hardware for virtualization is a plus, but training is available.
- Security & Disaster Recovery: Awareness of IT security and disaster recovery best practices to protect the hospital's data.
- Languages: Strong German and good English skills are required.
