Accountant Transitioning to Project Manager - Insurance

Role Overview

In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering key aspects of the finance transformation program, helping to modernize systems and processes across the organization. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your accounting expertise to support the implementation of new tools and practices, including SAP and Hyperion, while ensuring the program aligns with business objectives and timelines.

This is a hybrid role combining your technical accounting competencies with project management skills, offering an excellent platform to develop professionally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Support the planning, execution, and delivery of finance transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the program's goals and timelines.
  • Accounting Expertise: Leverage your accounting background to provide insights into process improvements, system requirements, and reporting frameworks.
  • System Implementation: Assist in the implementation of finance tools (e.g., SAP, Hyperion), ensuring they meet the needs of the business and accounting functions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance, IT, and transformation teams to gather requirements, address challenges, and deliver solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare project documentation, status updates, and reports to provide visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Training & Adoption: Support end-user training and adoption of new systems and processes, ensuring a smooth transition and successful implementation.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Take on additional project-related tasks as needed to ensure the program's success.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Accounting Background: A strong foundation in accounting, with experience in financial reporting, reconciliation, or related functions.
  • Project Experience: Prior experience working in a project role or contributing to transformation initiatives is essential.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with SAP and/or Hyperion is highly advantageous.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and clearly articulate complex concepts.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive approach to identifying challenges and finding solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and grow within a transformation-focused environment.
