Our client is a rapidly emerging life insurance client that has grown significantly through a number of annuity and reinsurance block transactions. Due to a number of successful acquisitions and capital being invested into systems, technology and process, the firm is looking for talented individuals to join in a leadership capacity.

This role will be one of the first hires in the Charlotte, North Carolina region and make up part of the South East Finance leadership team. In addition to great benefits and working environment, this client is looking to find candidates between 150-210k base salary with bonus potential.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee Corporate Accounting and General Ledger
  • Oversee the US GAAP quarterly/annual financial reporting process
  • Manage and develop a team of accounting staff
  • Support the Company's external financial reporting that aligns with US GAAP and regulatory accounting requirements
  • Analyze and document monthly earnings and other key financial variances
  • Support special projects and the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Develop solutions for new or non-routine accounting matters
  • Streamline existing processes and procedures to continually improve efficiency and controls
  • Improve and look for efficiencies in processes and automation of ledger processes and reporting solutions

Key Skills
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification or MBA highly regarded
  • 8+ years of experience in financial reporting and analysis within a large financial institution. Life insurance experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications
