As an Investment Operations Analyst you will play a critical role in supporting the operational and execution activities surrounding private equity deals. You will work closely with portfolio managers, legal, compliance, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of transactions and provide ongoing operational support throughout the investment lifecycle. This role will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with multiple stakeholders.



Investment Operations Analyst/Associate

We are delighted to represent our esteemed client in the Private Markets space in their search for a dedicated and experienced Investment Operations Analyst. This critical role within their Operations Department is based in Southern California on a very flexible schedule.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate deal execution and settlement of private equity deals, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Manage capital calls, fund flows, and trade settlements, communicating with brokers and custodians to meet deadlines.
  • Review and organize deal-related documentation (NDAs, LOIs, term sheets) to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Support pre-deal setup by organizing deal structures and investment vehicles in internal systems.
  • Track investment performance post-deal and maintain accurate portfolio records.
  • Conduct reconciliations of cash, positions, and trades for accuracy and reporting.
  • Prepare and assist in generating investor reports, including performance metrics and deal updates.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, coordinating with legal and compliance teams on regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with accounting, tax, and legal teams for efficient deal execution and fund management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all deal-related activities and assist in audit preparation.
  • Support system data management, entering deal information and enhancing operational workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements in deal execution workflows.
  • Assist in automating reporting processes and improving operational efficiency across teams.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of private market industry experience in legal and financial operations preferred.
  • Acute attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Elite communication and organizational abilities.
  • Engaged, energized, and motivated to learn.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel, Power Pivot, and SharePoint preferred.
  • Strong understanding of private equity deal structures and investment processes.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and portfolio management software (e.g., Excel, Aladdin, Bloomberg).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with data entry, reconciliation, and trade settlement processes.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory reporting in the investment management space.


This opportunity requires ability to travel (Onsite in Southern California about 3-5x a month covered by company) MUST be located in US Pacific, Mountain, or Central Timezone
