Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Litigation Claims Director to lead and manage complex claims, providing specialized technical handling for the most serious and high-value claims. The role requires extensive experience in handling Commercial General Liability, Garage, and Professional Liability claims, with a focus on Legal Malpractice matters. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of insurance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze liability and damage issues related to claims against insured parties and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Draft coverage positional letters and analyze insurance coverage issues.
- Retain and oversee outside counsel to defend insureds and resolve claims efficiently.
- Evaluate a full diary of pending matters and maintain accurate reserves.
- Foster relationships with insureds, brokers, and outside counsel, ensuring effective communication and claim resolution.
- Support underwriters with claims information to aid in risk evaluation on accounts.
- Regularly prepare and send large loss reports and other detailed documentation as required.
- Manage and monitor claims caseload using available resources and systems.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of insurance contracts, legal requirements, investigation techniques, and insurance regulations.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in handling Commercial General Liability and Professional Liability claims.
- Strong aptitude for evaluating and analyzing complex contracts and other detailed information.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email in a Windows environment.
- Current Claims Adjuster license(s) in one or more states preferred; willing to obtain additional state licensures.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent insurance claims experience.
